Since Vlora is a seaside town with almost 21 km of coastline, finding the right beach should not be a difficult task…

In the city itself, there are several beaches worth visiting, but there are also some that are worth starting the car for.

In addition to the city beach, which is the most popular, and behind which there is a promenade, as well as a large number of beach bars, restaurants and cafes, I should also mention the beaches: Narta, Vlores, Ion, Ion 2, Plazhi Ri, Plazhi I vjeter and others.
As everywhere, for some beaches you need to pay and for some you don’t. The city beach is quite correct and big enough to accommodate everyone interested.

It is located in the middle of the bay and is easily reached by a wide promenade along the shore.

If you are a fan of natural shade and a more peaceful vacation, then you should look for accommodation on the beaches in the north of the city, on the way to the Zvernec monastery about which I wrote here.

Here, there is a large pine forest along the entire length of the road, through which some cafes can be seen.

You can get here by following a nice and long bike path.

Since no one manages this part of town, the forest looks like this.

In the southern part of the city, the beach narrows and ends with this tunnel, through which the road leads to Orikum.

Orikum was a separate municipality for a long time, but today it belongs to Vljora. This tunnel becomes a bottleneck at night, so it can be a problem if you go to Vljora by car. Orikum is recommended to those who like all-inclusive holidays and the turquoise sea.
All beaches in Vljora are sandy.

The sand is the same everywhere, but the sunbeds are not. It all depends on who manages that area.

To enter the water is a gradual process. The sand is hard and packed so that it allows for long walks by the water without much effort.

You cannot describe the sea in Vljora as “crystal clear turquoise water”, but what is certain is that the water is certainly warm due to the large shallows.

The sea is full of fish, as evidenced by the rich restaurant offer.
Various types of water and underwater sports are also offered here. In the bay itself, diving is quite boring because everything is hidden in the sand, but if you go out to sea, things change drastically.

By walking along the water, you can chose restaurants and cafes for every day you are in Vljora. What zou should try in Vljora restaurants, I wrote here.

There are also shells here, which you can easily find while walking along the shore.

On the outskirts of Vlora, there are some of the most beautiful beaches in Albania, but you have to get to them by car.
I visited all the beaches in the city and none of them are wheelchair accessible. Since my basic condition was not satisfied, I indulged in my research in another way.

Since improvisation is my strong point, I did not leave Vljora disappointed.
If you stay on the beach long enough, sunsets await you from all parts of the bay.

Conclusion
There is room for everyone in Vljora, the bay is large enough. If we add to that a relatively cheap non-boarding offer, warm sea and excellent fish, then one can turn a blind eye to the piles of garbage, which nobody seems to mind.

There is a lot of room for improvement and I hope that at some point they will build a ramp for people in wheelchairs. I visited Vljora while she was still “wild”.

Have you been to Vljora?
Which beach did you like the most?
Traveled and enjoyed,
Marko Veličković
